How to Create, Edit and Delete a Work Order


Objectives

Overview

Daily Work Orders can be created from the Job Schedule (Calendar) or entered manually. They describe the Job to be done for the projected Blocks and the estimated amount of Materials needed to complete the Job.

 

How to create a new Work Order

From the Work Order list page click the new Work Order icon

The work order creation screen will appear

  1. Change date if current date is not the date of the Work Order
  2. Select Barn
  3. Status will default to open and shaded yellow. See Work Order Application Overview for more information on Work Order statuses and color coding.
  4. If a My Job has been created select the job for this Work Order. Category, Type and Job fields will be populated
  5. Select Land Area
  6. Select a variety if you wish to limit your land selections by variety (optional) Land selections are by Block or Parcel, not mixed
  7. Select the check box if you wish parcels in your land selections (optional)
  8. Click the search icon to display the land selection grid to add land to the Work Order

  1. Select Blocks/Parcels this Work Order will be for
  2. Click the Submit Land icon

If a Material is required in My Job select the Materials icon See How to Create, Update and Delete Materials in a Work Order for more information on adding Materials to a Work Order. will appear and must be entered before completing the Work Order.

 Materials

  1. You can select a pre-built Bill of Material (BOM) or create on “on the fly” Please refer to “Bill of Material (BOM)” document for more information.
  2. Select your BOM. Note: Material type, Category and Crop will be populated from information setup in the Job
  3. Materials that make up the BOM will be displayed in materials fields. You can add more materials to the Work Order if needed by selecting the material, entering a Quantity per acre and clicking the insert button. Note: this added material will only appear on the Work Order
  4. Enter Tractor speed (optional)
  5. Enter PSI (optional)
  6. Enter No. of nozzles (optional)
  7. Select spray method (optional)
  8. Enter percentage coverage if not 100%
  9. Enter Application rate per acre
  10. Verify UOM
  11. Verify tank size. Click Calculate, number of tanks required will be displayed. The numbers of Tanks are calculated based on the Tank Size, the Gallons per Acre (GPA), and the Block Acres to be sprayed defined in the Daily Work Order.
  12. Verify UOM
  13. Enter any instructions as needed (optional)
  14. Click submit

To complete the Work Order click the submit Work Order icon. You will be asked if you would like to make this Work Order active, if you select yes when you submit the Work order its status will change to active. If you do not select yes the Work Order will stay in the Open status. Either selection will print the Worker Protection Status sheet (WPS) See Work Order Reporting for more information on printing WPS and Work Order reports

How to edit a Work Order

A Work Order can only be edited if its status is Open.

  1. From the work order list locate the work order number you wish to edit
  2. When you place your mouse over the Work Order number the action dialog box will appear
  3. Click the blue arrow to change the active Work Order to open
  4. Then click the Work Order number to display the Work Order and make necessary changes

 How to delete a Work Order

A work order can not be deleted if a job activity is entered. The Job Activity must be deleted first.

  1. From the Work Order list page locate the Work Order you wish to delete
  2. Click on the Job Activity

If the Job Activity is incomplete you can delete the Job Activity and the delete the Work Order.

If the Job Activity is complete you must delete the detail of the Job Activity first.

  1. Delete item(s) using the red x icon in the action field
  2. Click the green check icon the save the changes
  3. This action will take you back to the Work Oder list page
  4. Select the Job Activity again
  5. The status should now be Incomplete
  6. Click the red x icon in the action column
  7. You will be asked "Are you sure you wish to delete" click OK
